Open studio time (OST) gives you a place to work on projects and practice your skills. Qualified individuals—must have successfully completed our Metals 1 workshop, or equivalent experience—will have full access to a jeweler's bench, soldering station, flexshaft, finishing machines and more.
Proper safety habits in the studio, knowledge of machinery and acetylene torches is a must, and proper studio attire is mandatory.
By purchasing studio time, you are agreeing to our studio guidelines.
You are responsible for bringing your own materials and supplies including solder, texture plates, and any other materials needed to work on your projects.
Cost for OST is $10/hour. Pay as you go, or we have punch cards available to suit any budget. We also offer monthly memberships starting at $125.
OST hours are available by appointment only, call to reserve bench space.
Open Studio Hours
OST hours/availability are subject to change without notice.
Our well-equipped studio includes soldering stations, rolling mills, vises, guillotine shears, hydraulic presses lapidary equipment and more. Benches are equipped with a standard bench pin, catch tray and FlexShaft.
Access to Lapidary Equipment is an additional $6/hour, and requires you bring your own lapidary blade, or you may purchase one from us.
Access is granted to equipment that a member is properly trained on, and members are responsible for working independently in a safe manner.
See our Studio Guidelines.
Members are responsible for bringing their own materials to use including, but not limited to: saw blades, sheet metals and wire, solder, flexshaft attachments, and texture plates.
Bench time is by appointment only, and is reserved in advance via phone. Workshops take precedence.
Members are expected to be able to work independently. Instructors are not available to answer questions when workshops are in session.
We expect you to wear proper attire and adhere to all safety rules while working in our studio.
Equipment access is granted with proper training. When in doubt, ask! We are happy to review guidelines with you to protect both you and the equipment.
Return all tools to their proper places and clean up after yourself; including wiping down your bench area, bench tray, and soldering station; disposing of trash, etc.
Memberships start on the first day of the month and go through to the last day of the month, and are not prorated. Unused hours do not carry forward, and no refunds will be issued.
