Escape into the serenity of Eagle Valley for a private bezel-setting weekend getaway with local award-winning goldsmith Paul Farmer. 

 

Luxurious accomodations include a 20,000+ sqft lodge with 7 bedroom suites (3 King, 4 double queen), a commercial kitchen, fully stocked bar and light refreshments, full size gym, bicycles, a stocked fishing pond, game room, pool and hot tub. Includes access to private hiking/biking trails, horseback riding, and the Eagle River for fishing.

*Breakfast, lunch, and open bar are included. Participants will make arrangements for dinners.

 

Conveniently located just 5 minutes from I-70 in Eagle, there is a Costco and City Market within 10 minutes of the property, as well as dining and catering options such as Moe's BBQ and local pizzerias.

Schedule:

Participants will meet in Eagle at 12pm on Friday, June 14th

Friday-Saturday: The first portion of the retreat will involve a 1.5 day workshop with Paul Farmer on advanced bezel setting methods. Participants will learn techniques to bezel set both faceted gemstones and cabochons. 

Sunday: Metalsmithing equipment will remain set-up to work on personal projects as desired. An afternoon BBQ prior to departure will include lawn games, music, and horseback riding. There is no checkout time for the rooms, so participants may depart at their leisure. 

 

Workshop Details:

Master Goldsmith Paul Farmer will teach participants how to professionally bezel set faceted and cabochon gemstones. He will also offer instruction on bright-cutting the bezel to make settings stand out more, and to make stones appear larger. Students will work with silver alloys and synthetic stones in the workshop.

 

A $40 materials kit is payable to the instructor in addition to your tuition and contains (1) 6mm synthetic sapphire cabochon, (3-4) 6mm white faceted CZs, 4” Sterling Silver 6.68mm Seamless Heavy-wall tubing, (1) Shofu Greenie polishing wheel, & (1) Shofu Brownie polishing wheel.
