Learn to create your own texture plates in this Mini Series course! Students will fabricate original texture plates that can be used to transfer designs to metal in a repeatable manner. Nickel-silver strips will be altered into texture plates with a variety of punches, burs, and other tools, with some techniques that can also be applied to creating texture-faced hammers. Students will also learn a method to chemically etch a design into metal.
 
Bring your metalsmithing toolbox, including:
-1"x6" (or larger) 18ga nickel-silver OR brass strip*
-20ga or thinner copper to test your texture plates on
